Clapham Concert

2nd July 2016

-R

Two events on the same day. 2pm, the Craven Singalong Group played background music at the Tate House Open Day in Harrogate all afternoon, joining the KAFS group who have supported this event for 20 years. Then they drove the 50 miles over to Clapham for the evening concert of Craven Accordion Orchestra. A busy day.

6:20pm.The Orchestra has arrived and they begin to squeeze into the the available space in the 19th Century church. The church has its origins in Norman times but it had to be rebuilt after being burned down by the Scots following Bannockburn. It has recently been refurbished after a fund raising effort.

A warm welcome from the hosts as the audience gathers.

The usual introduction from the compere, Colin Etherington..

Then the concert begins - conductor today was Danny Hinchcliffe, his debut performance.

There were also solo performances from Junior members.

A vote of thanks to Colin.

And thanks to the hosts.

The new CD was on sale prior to its official launch on 5th July.
