CAO prepare for the Championships
Under Bob's leadership. "Get it right or I will hold your neck like this and squeeze"
Harry ponders the thought - "I must try that technique".
Concentration.
OK - you at the back now.
A vote of thanks for Bob for his efforts.
The weekend arrives - hotel booked and off we go - sweets to sustain us.
The Adelphi Hotel is easily accessible, close to Lime Street station on the left. A large car park next door. You can just about see the church at Aigburth in the distance where we were married - so familiar hunting ground.
Within walking distance of the Mersey (for some).
Hotel is what you would expect from its history - a bit dated - but at the right price, so no complaints.
Spacious facilities, clean and well maintained.
Restaurant a bit cramped but no complaints about the food standard either. There are hundreds of bad reports about this hotel on the web but we had no complaints at the price.
But we were here for the Accordion Championships and the facilities for that were superb - large rooms to hold all the competitors.
So we are ready and waiting
The trophies are ready.
A dance in the evening.
Harry comes to collect a prize.
Thank you.
Others collect theirs.
They then posed for the official photograph.
Trophies join the food and drink on the tables round the room whilst they go back to collect even more of them.
So the next event is at Castle Bolton which Margie and Robert are organising in May. We look foreward to tea in their garden and a concert in St Oswald's church.
